Lubbert was a farmer who came from Meppel, in the Province of Drenthe, Netherlands, with his wife and four children in the ship Hope which arrived at New Amsterdam, 24 May 1662. The authorities of Flatbush, Long Island granted an application for a building plot in that village 15 Dec 1662. He bought a house in the southerly part of the village on 20 Aug 1670. He and his wife were members of the Hackensack Church in 1686.1250
