Holland Resident Is Taken By Death At The Age of 93
Mrs. Mathilda Louise Werremeyer, 93, of Holland died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Stork Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Henry G. Werremeyer, who died several years ago.
Mrs. Werrmeyer was born in Pike County on May 2, 1871, to Henry Doetker and Christina Niemuller Doetker.
She is survived by two nieces whom she and her husband took into their home following the death of their mother. They are Mrs. Alma Hemmer of Huntingburg and Miss Areta Steinkamp of Holland.
Mrs. Werremeyer was the last surviving member of the Henry Doetker family.
Friends may pay respects at the Nass and Son Mortuary in Huntingburg,. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ at Holland, with Rev. Roger Peterson officiating. Mrs. Werremeyer was a charter member of the church’s Ladies’ Aid Society. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
