Johannes lived within the jurisdiction of the Hackensack Reformed Chruch probably near his brother Pieter in the area of the present Hawthorne. All of their children were probably born near present Hawthorne. The church record of the marriage of Johannes Janse and Metje Johannes was the earliest known use of Van Blarcom as a surname and was not used again until 1706.
