Notes for Divertje CORNELIS
Divertje is named in the Van Rensselaer papers which sent the family to New Netherland, but her age or birthplace are not listed.

Lubbert was deceased before 1 May 1656 when widow Divertje and son-in-law requested permission to open a tavern. She did not move back to the west side of the Hudson when the settlers were permitted to return to their land holdings after the “Indian troubles”. After her marriage to Jan Aertsen Vanderbilt she lived on Long Island, at or near Midwout (Flatbush). Her death date is not known, but her widower remarried 11 December 1681.
