Notes for Simon DE RUINE
Simon, known to the Dutch as de Waal (the Walloon) emigrated to New Netherlands on the ship “De Trouw” (The Faith) 12 Feb 1659 from Henegouw, Holland. The family name is found at Valenciennes. Simon lived near Landrecy. Having sold his land at Harlem in 1666, he bought a few acres in Flushing. On 27 April 1678, the Sieur Dubuisson drew up his will. It was proved 13 June 1678. Simon was sick as he did not put his hand to the will. He left all his estate to his wife Magdaleena.
