Charles Lindbergh Stone age 90 died Saturday February 15, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born February 19, 1929 in Sturgis, KY to the late Jack & Irene Shofner Stone. He was a member of the Garvin Wood Baptist Church in Evansville. A member of VFW and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was a US Veteran and served in Korean War. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and airplanes. He retired from the railroad services and has lived in Evansville the past 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack & Irene Shofner Stone, a sister in 1993 Martha Stone Adamson and a son in 2012 Terry Stone Rucks. Survivors include: son’s Steve Stone & wife June of Lamar, IN, David Stone of Grandview, IN, Charles Jonathan Stone of Evansville, IN, Daughter LaWanna Rafferty & husband Sean of Henderson, KY, – Brother J.W. “Stoney” Stone of Sturgis, KY: 10 – Grandchildren 3 Great-Grandchildren .Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday 2/22/2020 at the Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, KY. Rev. Jim Nicholson will officiate. Visitation will be 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis, KY.
