CLAY, Ky. – Jerry M. Shofner, 64, died at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Providence.
Mr. Shofner was an L. & N. Railroad section foreman for 35 years.
Surviving are the wife, Louella, and two brothers, John Shofner of Sturgis, and David Shofner, of East St. Louis, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Price Temple in Providence, the Rev. R.E. Todd officiating, assisted by Mrs. Loda Clark. Burial was in Fernwood Cemetery at Henderson.
Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, June 26, 1952.Jerry Shofner, 64, died Tuesday night at 11 o'clock at his home here. He had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Tuesday morning. Mr. Shofner had been an employee of the L&N Railroad Company for 35 years and had lived in Clay, Dixon, and Sebree before moving to Providence. He is survived by his wife, Luella; two brothers, John Shofner of Grove Center and David Shofner of East St. Louis, Il., several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Franklin and Edwards Funeral Home in Clay. Funeral arrangements have not been made. Burial will be in Fernwood cemetery at Henderson.
