Martha [sic] Weinrich becomes bride of Herbert Blume
At a candlelight service on Saturday, November 29, at 8 p.m., Myrtha Weinrich of Bensenville, became the bride of Herbert Blume, of Franklin Park. The ceremony was performed in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, Church rd., Bensenville, by the Rev. O.H. Weinrich, the bride’s father.
The bride wore a gown of brocaded romain crepe, with a long train. Her full length veil hung from a heart shaped tiara. She carried white chrysanthemums.
The bride was attended by her sister, Wilma Weinrich, as maid of honor, and Ruth Baumgartner and Lillian Milas of Bensenville, Mrs. Herbert Hasse of Wood Dale, Gertrude Hinz of Arlington Heights, and Mrs. Vernon Blume of Franklin Park, as bridesmaids. They were all dressed in Rio Rose, moire taffeta dresses, with full skirts and three-quarter length sleeves. The plumes in their hair were of the same shade. The bridesmaids carried yellow chrysanthemums, and the maid of honor, rust chrysanthemums.
The groom was attended by his brother, Harold Blume of Franklin Park as best man, and Edgar Lochner of Milwaukee, Wis., Vernon Blume of Franklin Park and Herbert Hasse of Wood Dale as ushers. The groom, as well as his attendants, wore tuxedos, with boutonnieres of white chrysanthemums.
The processional, “Largo”, was played by Eleanor Lochner on the cello, and the recessional on the organ, by Mr. W.G. Gerth. During the service, Lillian Milas sang, “The Lord is My Shepherd.”
Following the wedding, a reception was held for relatives and friends in the Zion parish hall. Rev. Wm. Lochner of Milwaukee, Wis., was the toastmaster.
The bride received many beautiful gifts at four showers given her by friends, and the couple also received many beautiful wedding gifts.
