Adolph E. Weinrich of Palatine
A memorial prayer service for Adolph Weinrich will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Memory Gardens Cemetery chapel, 2501 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. The Rev. Robert Claussen, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Adolph, age 85, passed away at his home on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, with caring hospice attention. He was born March 3, 1916, in Ottumwa, Iowa, as David Eugene West and adopted by devoted parents, Alma and Ernst Weinrich, now deceased. A veteran, he served in the 105th Cavalry of the Illinois National Guard and the Merchant Marines. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Muriel (nee Neumann); and loving father of two daughters, Patricia (Dean) Neeland of Wauconda and Sandra (Don) Shoemaker of New Prague, Minn. His son, Scott Weinrich, preceded Adolph in death in September 1998. He was also an inspiration to five grandchildren, Paul and Jeff Bray, Sean Cullerton and Claire and Nora Weinrich; six stepgrandchildren, Jaime, Jason and Brian Neeland, and Tracy, Leslie and Brad Shoemaker; and five great- grandchildren, Heather, Josh, Christian, Colin and Maggie. Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home in Palatine.
