Mrs. Adams Dies Following Long IllnessSaleslady Was Well Known in Alma; Rites Were Wednesday
Mrs. Charlotte M. Adam, 80, resident of Alma for many years, died Sunday afternoon at the Newhall convalescent home hear Morley. She had been ill for about 5 years.
Mrs. Adams formerly was employed as a saleslady at the Gaffney Style shop and had also been with the D.W. Robinson company and the W.D. Baltz company in Alma. She was a faithful worker in the Methodist church.
Mrs. Adams husband, the late Leet Adam, was one of the first automobile salesmen in Alma and prior to taking up that occupation had been engaged in farming on the now Claude Wiley farm. He died December 21, 1919.
Mrs. Adams was born December 9, 1870, in Jackson county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Hawley. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Wind at Flint; two brothers, Ray L Hawley and Daniel P. Hawley, and a sister, Mrs. Adelle Delmater, all of Jackson county.
