Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at two o’clock in the First United Church of Christ for Forest M. Wood, 64 years old, who died at his home at Lake of the Woods Wednesday afternoon, July 29, from a heart attack. Rev. Marwood E. Rettig, pastor of the church, officiated. The body was then taken to Waynetown, where funeral and burial services were held Saturday afternoon.

He served, in this post until his retirement in 1963. On August 13, 1963, he was appointed Portgage township trustee but he retired three months later because of ill health.
