Mr. Johnson was a master sergeant in the United States Army, serving from 1942 to 1964. He received the Combat Infantryman's Badge 1st. Award, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar, WWII Victory Commemorative Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with Japan clasp, Army Good Conduct Medal with 4 Bronze Loops, United Nations Service Medal for Korea, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Commemorative Medal, NY State Conspicuous Service Star & NY State Medal for Merit with 4 Silver Stars.
He worked in the felt mill in Newfane, NY for 10 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 28 years in Lockport, NY & a member of the Wilson Historical Society for several years. He enjoyed fishing & camping.
In addition to his wife, Gertrude (Sweeney), Mr. Johnson is survived by three children, Albert (Julie) Johnson III of Barker, NY; Darrell (Patricia) Johnson of Helendale, CA.; & Susan (William) Fuller of Bliss, NY; three stepchildren, Robert (Lois) Hays of Lockport, NY; Linda (Robert) Hinson of Columbia, SC; & Norman (Gloria) Hays of Lockport, NY; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; & several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Barry Albert Johnson in 1948. 81y
