HENDERSON -- Curtis Hoover "Hoot" Babbs, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He farmed, retired from Municipal Power & Light and was an Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; two daughters, Patricia Ann Lewis and Melody Rose Baushke; two sons, Tony Curtis and Michael Wayne; sisters, Dorothy Bolds, Ethel Babbs and Jewel Miller; a brother, John Allen; and six grandchildren.
Services noon Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with military rites. Visitation is 2 to 7 p.m. today and until service time.

Curtis Hoover"Hoot" Babbs
Curtis Hoover "Hoot" Babbs, 76, Henderson, formerly of Union County, died at 6:59 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital.
He attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He had retired from Municipal Power and Light after 22 1/2 years and farmed in Union and Henderson counties. He was also a United States Air Force veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curty and Nettie Cornwell Babbs.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Myrtle Shofner Babbs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Ann and Danny Lewis of Uniontown and Melody Rose and Michael Baushke of Spottsville; two sons, Tony Curtis Babbs and Michael Wayne Babbs, both of Henderson; three sisters, Dorothy Bolds of Baton Rouge, La., Ethel Babbs of Union County and Jewel Miller of Sturgis; one brother, John Allen Babbs of Gary, Ind.; six grandchildren, Crystal Michelle Lewis Miller, Bambie Dawn Babbs, Steven Allan Lewis, Michael Curtis Babbs, Melissa Ann Baushke and Mason Dean Baushke; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Father Jason McClure will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Danny Lewis, Michael Baushke, Curt Nelson, Freeman Harness, Tom Wedding and Jim Voyles.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Steven Allan Lewis, Michael Curtis Babbs and Mason Dean Baushke.
