Will notes for David GREELE
The last will and testament of David Greele of Salsbury in the Co. of Essex & Province of Mass. Bay, in N.E., yeoman.
First, my will is that my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid by my executor.
Second. I give to my beloved wife May Greele, the use and improvement of 1/2 of my real estate during her life, and 1/2 of my household stuff and goods (except 1 bed and bedding) to her dispose.
Third. I give and bequeath to my 3 sons Shubal, Richard & Benjamin all my common and undivided land in Salsbury, in the Province of New Hampshire, to be equally divided between them; and that, with what I have given them by deed already, to be their part and portion of my estate.
Fourth. I give to my daughter Mary Carr, 6s. with what she had upon her marriage to be her full part of my estate.
Fifth. I give to my daughter Jan French £3 and that with what she had upon her marriage to be her full part of my estate.
Sixth, I give to my daughter Esther Deal, 6s. and that with what she had upon her marriage to be her full part of my estate.
Seventh I give to my daughter Rachel Eaton 6s. and that with what she had upon her marriage to be her full part of my estate.
Eight, I give unto my daughter Hannah Kenney, £13 6s. to be paid her 10 years after my decease; £1 6s. 8d. a year till the whole is paid and the said Hannah shall have liberty to live in my house so long as she shall live single; and my executors to keep her 2 sheep over the winter, so long as she live in my house.
Ninth, I give and bequeath to my son John Greele, all my real estate in houseings and lands and meadows or salt marsh in Salsbury, in the Co. of Essex; also one piece of land in Halls farm, so called, of about 5 A; also 4 A. more or less, in Salsbury in N.H. being part of my 100 A. lot not before disposed of, with all my stocks of creatures of all sorts, and my husbandry tools of all sorts; and 1 bed and bedding; and the other half of my household goods and household stuff and my right in the pew in the East Meeting house, with all my clotheing of all sorts, and debts due to me of all sorts; to have and to hold to him, his heirs and assigns forever, he paying the above mentioned debts and legacies.
Finally, I do constitute and appoint my son John Greele to be sole executor of my last will and testament. In witness wereof I, the said David Greele, have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25 day of Oct. 1773. Signed, sealed and delivered by the said David Greele to be his last will and testament in presence of
