He was a shoemaker by profession (1850 Census). Three sons lived in 1850. He rests at St.Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Cincinnati, # 4 line 4.
As it appears Conrad SAUER was the first one of the family who emigrated. He emigrated 10 Mar 1842 following "Der Deutsche Pionier", Cincinnati, Vol.5, p.264) and was a boot and shoemaker in Cincinnati. In 1853 he ca. 6 miles from Cincinnati (Letter written by his cousin Andreas Sauer who was in Cincinnati at that time but later went west to California and Nevada). In 1860 he lived on 271 Clinton Street in Cincinnati.
He rests at St.Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Cincinnati, # 4 line 4.
