Gerald Lee “Jerry” Turney, 70
NEW WATERFORD – Gerald Lee “Jerry” Turney, 70, of Boardman Street, died at 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Forum Health Northside Medical Center in Youngstown.
Born March 13, 1936 in Salem, he was the son of the late George and Gertrude Turney.
He retired from the former Franklin Furniture Company in Columbiana.
Surviving him are his wife of 50 years, Carol L. (Westlake) Turney of New Waterford; three sons, Jerry Curtis (Kay) Turney of Wooster and Erin Kevin Turney and Jay (Gina) Turney, both of Salem; a daughter, Pamela (Bob) Graff of Leetonia; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Arlene Roessler of Canfield and Kathryn Fowler of Salem; and a brother, Ronald Turney, also of Salem.
Besides his parents, preceding him in death are three sisters, Marjorie Garrett, Betty Falk and Doris Beiling, and two brothers, George Jr. and Gene Turney.
He was a longtime Cleveland Indians baseball fan. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at Columbiana Burger King and traveling.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Mark Vincent of the New Waterford United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at New Waterford Cemetery.
