LOUIS E. CAIN
Louis E. Cain, 76, of 1404 S. 14th St., Herrin, died Friday evening in the Mattingly Nursing Home in Energy.
He was a retired miner and a member of UMWA Local 1776.
He was a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church in Herrin. Born June 6, 1895, in Webster County, Ky., he was the son of George and Charlotte Bumpus Cain.
He first married Essie Velma Duncan. She died in 1961. He later married the former Neola Yates, who survives. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Craig of Herrin and Mrs. Verna Mae Turner of Energy; a son, L.C. Foster Sr., of Herrin; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at the George Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin. The Rev. Eugene Baggett will officiate, with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens south of Herrin. Friend may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
