SHIRLEY W. CANNADAY
Shirley W. “Speedy” Cannaday, 68, of Route 1, De Soto, former owner of Speedy’s Tavern in De Soto, died Thursday, March 31, 1977, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale following a lengthy illness.
He was the owner of a tuck-pointing business.
He was born Feb. 6, 1909, in Providence, Ky., to William and Maggie Hogan Cannaday.
He is survived by two nieces, Ruby Craig of Du Quoin and Verna Mae Turner of Energy; and one half brother, Jack Hogan of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
His body will be cremated at Memorial Park in St. Louis. There will be no funeral services or visitation.
Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale is in charge of the arrangements.
