Saves 11 Sailors From Sea Death
WEAVERTON, Ky., Jan. 17 – (Special) – Grover Willingham, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Willingham, Weaverton, is credited with saving a barge and 11 men in the Pacific Ocean and has been cited for bravery by the U.S. Navy.
A naval barge drifted from dock at Wake Island last Month. When you Willingham saw the boat moving out to sea, he manned a launch and overtook it and managed to tow it back to the dock after a two-hour struggle.
He is a first class seaman and now is in line for promotion.

HENDERSON - Funeral arrangements for Grover William Willingham, 60, who died at 4 yesterday afternoon at his home, are pending at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; sons, David Grover and Bruce Ray of Sarasota, Fla., Jackie Stephen and Michael Earl of Henderson; a sister, Mrs. Birdie Mae Larue of Henderson and two grandchildren.
