Burial of Two Brothers
Caskets of Drs. Homer and Lafayette Balcom Covered With Flowers.
Surrounded by scores of massive floral tributes from surviving friends and relatives, the double funeral of Dr. Homer Balcom and Dr. Lafayette Balcom, the brothers who died within two days of each other while visiting in this city, took place from the residence of their sister, Mrs. William Smith, 81 Elm street, yesterday afternoon.

Rev. W. W. Frisbie, of St. James Episcopal church, read the burial service and spoke a few words appropriate to the peculiar and unusual conditions surrounding the death of the brothers. A quartet rendered “near, My God, To Thee” and “Asleep in Jesus,” favorite hymns of the dead men, and the remains, enclosed in separate caskets, were borne to the nearses and deposited in their last resting place, side by side, at Woodmere cemetery, the burial being private.
