Harold Frederick Dobstaff, 81, of Cape Coral passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Hope Hospice North in Cape Coral. He was born March 26, 1931 in Buffalo, NY to Harold E. and Alice. In 1951, Harold married the love of his life Joanne Brooks. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a major in History in 1952. Afterwards he attended the Eden Theological Seminary in Webster Groves, MO where he obtained a Master of Divinity degree. Upon graduation, Harold embarked on his life's journey as a United Church of Christ Minister. He began his pastorate at the Willoughby UCC in OH. In 1959 he was called to begin a new congregation in Wheaton, IL which became St. Matthew UCC. In 1965 Harold became the Associate Executive Director of the Chicago Association of the Illinois Conference of the UCC. In 1970 he returned to the local church ministry and became Senior Pastor of Webster UCC where he served for 24 years and retired from in 1994. Harold is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joanne and is survived by his 4 loving children Daniel (Irene)of Honeoye Falls, NY, Mary of Cape Coral, FL, David (Beth) of Austintown, OH and Susan (Bryan) Howe of Honeoye Falls, NY; 7 cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Joshua (Lisa), Megan, Melissa, Christopher, Alexa and Shannon; 2 beautiful great grandchildren Henry and James and dear sister Diann (Chuck) Berg of Tempe, AZ.
