Miss Windle, Mr. Bonsteel Are United in Home WeddingThe home of the bride was the setting for the wedding Saturday at 4:30 in the afternoon of Miss Joanne Elizabeth Windle and David LeVan Bonsteel. The marriage was solemnized by Dr. Stephen E. Palmer, minister, First Presbyterian church. The fireplace and mantle were banked with white floral arrangements against a background of greens flanked by candelabra with white tapers, and clusters of white flowers with trailing greens.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice L. Window, 637 Locust St., and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Ralph H. Bonsteel, Hudson, O., and the late Mr. Bonsteel.
Bride Wears Lace
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an afternoon dress of white Chantilly lace over white taffeta, fashioned with a fitted bodice, low rounded neckline, elbow-length sleeves, and a slightly bouffant skirt. Her headdress was a circlet of seed pearls and Chantilly lace. She carried a bouquet of white Fujimums.
The Bride’s two sisters were her attendants, Mrs. Herbert J. Nelson Jr., Northfield, Ill., and Mrs. Robert O. Kahl, Binghamton. They wore blue and yellow voile afternoon dresses featuring fine tucked, fitted bodices, low necklines and soft, unpressed plates forming the full skirts. They wore circlets of velvet leaves matching their dresses. They carried colonial bouquets of blue and yellow chrysanthemums.
Ralph Bonsteel, Cleveland, brother of the bridegroom, was best man.
Mrs. Patrick Madriska, pianist, provided nuptial music.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Windle chose a power blue silk faille dress with black accessories, while Mrs. Bonsteel favored a toast color Peau de Soie dress with black accessories. Both mothers wore pale pink demure roses.
Lawn Reception
A buffet supper was served on the lawn. The buffet table was covered with a white linen cloth and centered with white gladioli in a crystal bowl, with white tapers in crystal holders on either side. The smaller tables for the guests were covered with white linen cloths and centered with small vases of Shasta daisies and chrysanthemums.
The couple will sail from New York City Wednesday, on the European liner, Bergenfjord. As Mrs. Bonsteel left with her husband for New York City, she was wearing a navy blue suit with red accessories. Her corsage was of red feathered carnations. The couple will reside in Cleveland on their return.
The bride graduated from the College of Wooster, Wooster, O., and the bridegroom was graduated from Washington State, Pullman, Wash.
