Mrs. August Friese
Marie Thusius was born in Eisenberg, Sachsen-Altenburg, Germany, July 21, 1839. She was married to August Friese June 17, 1860. To them were born 3 boys and 3 girls, one girl died in Germany and a boy in this country. They emigrated to America in 1867, arriving at Arlington Heights (then Dunton) May 1, and made their home here the rest of their lives. Mr. Friese died in 1886, since which time she lived with her son, Edward Friese. She had been in failing health several years and died of heart failure on her 73rd birthday. The funeral conducted by Pastor Noack took place from St. Peter's Lutheran Church Wednesday. She leaves surviving two sons, William and Edward Friese here and two married daughters whose homes are in Mich., 13 grand children and one great grand child, two sisters, Mrs. H. Weinrich and Mrs. Jas. McElhose.
