Notes for William BROWN
Because of the commonness of the name William Brown and the immigration from Ireland, it will be very difficult to locate this exact ancestor in Ireland with his parents. William was illiterate and little is known about him before he marries Martha Hogan in Union County, Kentucky in 1862. There are two other Browns in Union County in 1870 that are worth examining in case they were related: John Brown, age 70 in 1870 and Daniel Brown, age 30 in 1870.

In 1860 a Wm. Brown is age 30 in Morganfield. In 1870 William states he is 35 years old, which would make his birthdate 1835. However in 1880 he is 70 years old, which would make his birthdate 1810.
