Albert Spear
Albert Spear, who for fifty-nine years kept a boot and shoe store at 91 Main street, which he gave up about 6 years ago, died shortly after midnight yesterday as the result of a stroke of paralysis. He was born 82 years ago on the old Spear property just this side of where Cedar Lawn Cemetery now is. He was a clerk in the shoe store of his father at 91 Main street, and sixty-five years ago succeeded him as proprietor. Mr. Spear was a stalwart Democrat and many years ago was collector of taxes, serving one term. He was married in 1846 to Miss Mary A. Slingerland, who died just four years ago. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Misses Annie and Mary Spear. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon.
