Notes for Elizabeth Lawton HINDLE
Elizabeth Lawton Hindle was found baptized in St. George Church in Staleybridge, Cheshire, daughter of John and Betty Hindle, on 18 February 1827. After seeing common practices of baptizing in this area, it is possible that she was born in 1826 as her death record indicates. Her gravestone at the cemetery says 1826 and her death certificate also indicate this as her birth year (age 57). It is unusual to find a baptismal record this specific with a middle name, so this is additional evidence for her mother’s maiden name to be Lawton and the Oldham marriage to be the one we’re looking for.
