Notes for James Augustus HINDLE
James was also a partner in the undertaking business with his brother, John. He served in the Civil War and died at an early age also of Bright's disease. Information on this son was obtained from his descendant, Arlette Keri. New census information on this line has been added to the census records. James' wife, Elizabeth Harrop, remarried after his death around 1877 to John Lincoln. He was living on Prospect St. in Paterson, NJ when he died in 1873.

SAD DEATH- Mr. James Augustus Hindle of the firm Hindle Brothers, undertakers, while attending a funeral last Thursday was attached with fits in the graveyard and had a succession of fits for several days, dying this morning in consequences.
HINDLE- In this city on Tuesday February 18, 1873 James A Hindle in the 29 year of his age. Notice of funeral tomorrow.

HINDLE. In this city on Tuesday February 18th, 1873 James August Hindle, aged 29, 6 months, 24 days. The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday February 20 at 2 o’clock PM from his late residence Prospect street and from St. Paul’s Church at 2:30 o’clock. The officers and comrades of Farragut Post 28, G.A.R. are respectfully invited to attend, interment at Cedar Lawn.
