Notes for Anna DE SILLE
Because her father was a widower and influential in the colony, Anna learned duties of a hostess early, by the age of 14. She was considered accomplished and brilliant, and so was much sought after. The wedding of Anna to Hendrick Kip was evidently a large event at the new colony of New Netherlands.
She had a hop-garden in the village of Flatbush. She bound her son Nicasius, age 14 years for 6 years from 1 May 1678 to Jan Montagne to learn the cooper’s trade.
