D. H. [sic] Fordyce, 52, Son Of Ex-Mayor, Dies in New York
Donald H. [sic] Fordyce, 52, son of the Hon. Robert H. Fordyce, former Mayor of Paterson from 1914-1915, died Monday after a long illness in the New York Hospital, New York City.
Born in Paterson, Mr. Fordyce received his early education in the local schools, graduated from MacKenzie Preparatory School, and attended St. Lawrence College. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War I, and on his return to civilian life became interested in dog breeding and judging. He was secretary and president successively of the Gordon Setter Club, and was recognized as one of the youngest show judges in the metropolitan district. Before his illness he was the department manager of the American Kennel Club.
He had been a resident of New York City for many years.
Funeral services will be held, after cremation, for the immediate family only. Interment will be at the family mausoleum in Cedar Lawn Cemetery Friday. It is the wish of the family that no flowers be sent. Instead donations may be sent in his memory to the New York Hospital.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Keck Fordyce, a daughter, Mrs. James (Patricia) Mulford; a granddaughter, Barbara Jay Mulford, all of New York City; and a sister, Mrs. Edgar J. (Elizabeth) Haaren, of Allenhurst, N.J. Another sister, Mrs. Beatrice Sheldon, of Allentown, Pa., predeceased Mr. Fordyce.

Donald Fordyce’s Rites Tomorrow
Services for Donald N. Fordyce, son of the late Mayor Robert H. Fordyce, who died recently, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Sheldon Crypt in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Arthur A. Wahmann, pastor of the Church of the Messiah, will officiate. Mr. Fordyce was the husband of Margaret Keck Fordyce.

The dog fancier will be grieved to learn of the death on Monday of the death on Monday [sic repeat] of Donald Fordyce, head of the show department of the American Kennel Club and friend of man’s best friend, the dog. Mr. Fordyce was one of the founders of the Gordon Setter Club of America that came into being 28 years ago and was A.K.C. delegate from that club for many years.
