Mayor’s Wife Dying; End Expected Today
Mrs. Daisy Fordyce, wife of Mayor Robert H. Fordyce, is in a critical condition at her home 73 Twelfth avenue and at 2 o’clock this afternoon the end was only a question of hours, according to the attending physician. Mrs. Fordyce is a suffered [sic] from acute Bright’s disease, and has been in a serious condition for some time past. She has been a patient sufferer and few outside of the family circle were acquainted with the serious nature of her illness. Mayor Fordyce and the members of his family were at the bedside of the suffering woman constantly today.

FORDYCE - Entered into rest, on Thursday evening, April 9, 1914. Daisy A., wife of Robert H. Fordyce. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, April 11, from her late residence, 73 Twelfth avenue, at 2:30 o’clock p.m. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Robert H. Fordyce
The home of Mayor Robert H. Fordyce, at 73 Twelfth avenue, was thronged with relatives and friends of his deceased wife, Mrs. Daisy Fordyce, whose funeral was held at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon. The casket bearing the remains reposed in a literal floral bower, the principal tributes being two handsome pieces from the City Hall employes and members and employes of the Board of Health. Services at the residence were conducted by the Rev. Hugh B. McCauley, pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, of which Mrs. Fordyce was a constant and devout attendant during her lifetime. Chrystal Brown, tenor, sang two appropriate solos. There were no honorary pall bearers. Interment was in the family plot at Cedar Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Edward J. MacDonald. The funeral was attended by practically every city official and a large number of employes of the City hall.

Dr. Shaw performed the ceremony, and after the happy couple had received the congratulations of their friends, together with a number of elegant presents, they started on their wedding tour. They proceeded to New York and from there will take a trip up the Hudson.
