Wedded at Bride’s Home
Miss Beatrice Fordyce Becomes Bride of James Henry Sheldon
Miss Beatrice Fordyce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hayes Fordyce, and James Henry Sheldon were married at the home of the bride’s parents, 73 Twelfth avenue, last night. The guests were confined to the immediate families of the bride and groom with the exception of a number of the bride’s acquaintances in the younger social set of the Eastside. Rev. Herbert Barber Howe, pastor of the Second Presbyterian church, performed the ceremony. Following a three weeks’ wedding tour in the South, Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon will reside in a newly appointed home at 648 East Twenty-sixth street.
The bride wore a gown of white satin, trimmed with duchess lace and embroidery, and carried a boquet [sic] of white orchids and lilies-of-the-valley. She was attended by Miss Elizabeth Hindle Fordyce, as maid of honor, and by Dorothy Hindle, her cousin, of New Brunswick, as flower girl. Miss Elizabeth Fordyce was gowned in yellow satin trimmed with shaded yellow chiffon. Her boquet [sic] was of yellow chrysanthemums. The flower girl was attired in a white gown with yellow flowers. She carried a basket of yellow flowers.
Fred Sheldon, the groom’s brother, was best man. Donald Fordyce, a brother of the bride, and Lawton Hindle acted as ribbon boys. The residence was beautifully decorated with a profusion of smilax and chrysanthemums and with palms and ferns.
