Jesse H. Kemper, 94, Huntingburg


Huntingburg – Jesse H. Kemper, 94, of Huntingburg, died at 11:17 p.m. Friday, May 31, 1991, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg.

He was born Jan. 25, 1897, in Stendal to Frank and Sarah (Stork) Kemper. For many years her and his wife, Edith, operated Kemper’s Cafe in Stendal.

On Jan. 24, 1934, he married Edith Sakel in Michigan City.

Surviving are his wife, Edith of Huntingburg, and one daughter, Judith Maxwell for Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Otto Kemper.

Mr. Kemper was an Army veteran of World War I and was a member of the Zoar United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Nass & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Marvin Roeder will officiate. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Sunday.
