Helen Werremeyer , 94, of Sidney passed away at 5:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Clark-Lindsey Meadowbrook Health Center, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Sidney United Church. Pastor Mike Picklesimer will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Freese Funeral Home, 202 W. Main, Sidney.
Mrs. Werremeyer was born Dec. 19, 1912, in Sidney, the daughter of Louis and Anna Leerkamp Toppe. She married Clarence J. Werremeyer on Feb. 23, 1933, in Broadlands. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1995.
She is survived by a son, Leroy (Joyce) Werremeyer of Sidney; a daughter, Karen (Rex) Fenwick of Urbana; four grandchildren, Randy and Tim Werremeyer , Susan Niehaus and Rich Fenwick; and two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wallis and August Niehaus.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Werremeyer was a very active member of Sidney United Church. She helped her husband farm in the Sidney area for many years before retiring.
