DOROTHY E. KEYES HAAREN, 80, of RUMSON, died Tuesday at home. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George's by the River Episcopal Church, and Sea Bright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club, both of Rumson, the Sea Bright Beach Club, Polly's Pond Sailing Society, a former member of the Junior League of Monmouth County, and a volunteer for F.I.S.H. (For I Shall Serve Humbly), Meals on Wheels and the Women's Exchange, Little Silver. Born in Hollis, N.Y., she lived in Rumson for the past 44 years.

Her husband, Craig F. Haaren, died 20 years ago and she was also predeceased by her parents, Charles F. and Ella Keyes. Surviving are a son, Craig Jeffrey Haaren, Rumson, two daughters, Paige St. Phillip, Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Nancy Haaren Schuster, Rumson, two granddaughters, Tiffany St. Phillip, and Paige Elizabeth Haaren and a grandson, Craig Daniel Haaren.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. George's By the River Episcopal Church, Rumson. Interment will be private. The family requests that memorial donations may be made in her memory to the VNA Hospice, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank, NJ 07701. John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.

Haaren – Keyes
The marriage of Miss Dorothy Elizabeth Keyes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Keyes of Hollis, Queens, and Shelter Island, N.Y., to Lieut. Craig Fordyce Haaren, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar J. Haaren of Allenhurst, N.J., took place last night in St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Hollis. The Rev. Robert Condit, the rector, performed the ceremony.

The bride had Mrs. Millard Pretzfelder Jr. of Great Neck, L.I., as matron of honor, and the other attendants were Miss Margaret Robinson of Hollis, Mrs. Robert Reis of Brooklyn, Mrs. Norman S. Welch of Atlanta and Mrs. Charles Simon of Jamaica Estates, Queens. J. Gregory Sheldon of Allentown, Pa., cousin of the bridegroom, was best man.

A reception was given in the Garden City (L.I.) Hotel.

The bride, a graduate of the Junior College of Packer Collegiate Institute, is a member of the Hollis Junior League. Lieutenant Haaren, an alumnus of Rutgers University, is a member of the American Societies of Mechanical Engineers and Naval Engineers. He served overseas two years as commanding officer of an LST in the Pacific.
