Albert settled on 362 acres at Preakness (on Singac Brook) that his father, Jan Berdan, Jr. had purchased from the heirs of Thomas Hart of London on 18 Nov 1720. Albert first built a log cabin, and later built a more permanent home on what became Berdan Avenue in
Upper Preakness, Passaic Co.
On 11 May 1738 John Bardan of Hackensack, conveyed to his son Albert Bardan, for £200. Signed Jan Bardan. Witnessed by Jacobus Bertholf and Daniel Demarest.
On 24 November 1776 John Bardan, of Wekeke, Bergen County, oldest son and heir of Albert Bardan, deceased, conveyed to Jacob Bardan, of the same place, brother of said John Bardan, land trade, 362 acres. Mentioned corner to David Hennion. Signed by John Bardan.
