Notes for Ernst Wilhelm & Friedericke Maria Elisabeth (Family)
I have found that we are indeed related to the Buddenkuhle family that we met in Lengerich. While in Salt Lake City, I got email from Horst Henke about the Buddenkuhle and Hunsche families. He indicated a different marriage date that we had previously recorded. So I went to look at the microfilm of the Lengerich church records while in Salt Lake City. I found the page that had Ernst Wilhelm Wehrmeyer marrying Friedericke Elisabeth Buddenkuhle. The record was written across two pages open together in the book. On the second page across from these two names it had “Eberhard George Lammers” in the father of bride column and the date was in October. Using Horst’s email information, I went to the page where August would be and found other names across from father of bride Friederick Buddenkuhle with the date 5 August 1836. After several confusing minutes of scrolling back and forth I concluded that the pages were in the wrong order! None of the fathers matched to the brides on these two pages. I had Robert Heimann check that my supposition was correct. The book must have come apart at some time and been put back together in an incorrect order and only recently reordered for Horst’s researcher to read it correctly! If you put the left page of Ernst & Elisabeth together with the right page which has Friederick Buddenkuhle and the marriage date, all the names and lines match up (we checked other names as well)! The pages were not numbered as they were supposed to be in chronological order.
Because of this discovery and getting information from the Buddenkuhles we were visiting, I now have additional generations of family from that line.
