Deceased Name: Eleanor F. Sheldon
Eleanor F. Rusty Sheldon, 88, of South Whitehall Township, died Friday, April 27, 2007, in her home. She was the wife of the late J. Gregory Sheldon, who died in 1977. Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Margaret (Roarty) Freeman. She was a graduate of Allentown High School, class of 1936, and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. She was a receptionist in the ophthalmologist office of Dr. Griffin in Allentown for eight years before retiring in 1978. Rusty was active in the community, having over 20 years of service as a volunteer at both the Parkland Community Library and Lehigh Valley Hospital, 17th and Chew streets, Allentown. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors: Daughters, Wendy S. Christman and her husband Dennis of Orefield, Leslie Sheldon-Kloss of Quakertown; grandson, Sheldon Christman. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and William Freeman.
Services: Family and friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the home of Wendy and Dennis Christman.
Interment in Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, will be private, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718-3208.
