Deceased Name: Henrietta McElhose

Henrietta McElhose, beloved daughter of Mrs. James McElhose, sister of Henry, Charles, Edward, Laura, Arthur and James. Funeral Friday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m., from M. E. church, Arlington Heights.

The Daily Herald, Chicago, Illinois, 6 April 1917
Miss Henrietta McElhose
Once more the Angel of Death has visited our town. Relatives, friends and neighbors were all shocked and grieved to learn of the sudden death on April 2nd, of Miss Henrietta McElhose. Few knew she was even ill and none that her illness was serious. Even to attempt to enunciate the many splendid qualities of our friend is quite impossible. Her home has been her life work. She has always found time however to attend to many outside calls. The Methodist church of which she has been a member 29 years has always received her most hearty support in all departments. She was treasurer of the Sunday School 15 years. She has also been a loyal member of several other organizations. To her many friends she was a constant source of pleasure and a splendid example of faithfulness in the everyday duties of life. Miss Henrietta McElhose was born in Arlington Heights March 22, 1868 and died Monday evening, April 2, 1917, aged 49 years 11 days. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McElhose and has lived her life in Arlington Heights with the exception of 11 years spend in Humbird, Wisconsin. She leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, one sister, Laura McElhose, and five brothers, Henry of Ilion, N.W.,[sic] Charles of Marietta, Ohio, Edward, Arthur and James of Arlington Heights.
