Irene Malzahn, beloved wife of Harold; dearest mother of Wayne (Alice) and Dale Malzahn, dear daughter of Anna Welnrich; dear grandmother of Bryan, Todd and Vicki Malzahn; fond sister of Paul, Carl Welnrich and Gertrude Olson. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. Will lie in state in church from 12 noon until time of service. Resting at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., Northwest Hwy. and Vall Av., Arlington Heights, from 3 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Family request, kindly omit flowers. Services for Irene Malzahn, 64, a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Peter Luthern Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. The body will lie in state in the church from noon until time of service. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
She died Wednesday in Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. For more than 13 years, Mrs. Malzahn had served a financial administrator for the First United Methodist church of Arlington Heights.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; sons Wayne and daughter-in-law, Alice Malzahn, and Dale Malzahn; brothers, Paul and Carl Weinrich; sisetr [sic] Gertrude Olson; mother, Anna Weinrich; and grandchildren, Bryan, Todd and Vicki Malzahn.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9:30 p.m. today in Gluckert funeral Home Ltd., Northwest Highway and Vail Avenue, Arlington Heights.
Family requests please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to the Oncology Department in care of Northwest Community Hospital, 800 W. Central Rd., Arlington Heights 60005.
