Miss Florence Meyer, daughter of Mrs. Meyer of Diamond Lake, became the bride of Roger McElhose, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward McElhose, 407 N. State rd., Arlington Heights, at Mundelein Catholic church June 23, at 9:30 a.m.
Baskets of white carnations and lilies decorated the altar.
The bride wore a white satin gown fashioned with chatilly lace insets, long sleeves, a fitted bodice and long train. Her finger tip veil of chantilly lace was held in place by a fabric covered crown. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Paul Meyer.
Miss Helen Meyer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a yellow chiffon gown.
The bride’s sisters, Mrs. Americo Bedini, Mrs. Merton Jarrett and Mrs. Robert Parker, were bridesmaids. They wore blue chiffon gowns.
Jayne Wittenburg, Palatine, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Vincent Weidner, Arlington Heights, was best man. Clarence McElhose, Howard Wittenburg and Clarence Meyer were ushers.
A dinner was held for the wedding party and the immediate family at the Rustic Manor in Gurnce[?]. A reception for 350 guests was held at the Mount Prospect VFW hall at 8 p.m.
After a three weeks’ wedding trip in California, the couple will live at 407 N. State rd., Arlington Heights.
