The marriage of Miss Nellie Foster, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. A.D. Foster, to Edward A. McElhose of Arlington Heights, Ill., took place at 5 o’clock, Wednesday evening, Dec 30, 1914, at the home of the bride’s parents, Dakota, Ill. The Rev. A.D. Foster, father of the bride, read the service.
To the strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march, played by Mr. Roscoe Reed of Arlington Heights, the bride and groom entered the parlor accompanied by Miss Laura McElhose of Arlington Heights, sister of the groom, as maid of honor, and Mr. Marion Foster of Warren, Ill., brother of the bride, as best man.
The bride wore a gown of white silk with an overdress of chiffon and pearl bead trimmings and carried a shower bouquet of bride roses and Roman hyacinths.
The groom wore the conventional black.
The maid of honor wore a dress of plaited chiffon over yellow silk with lace trimmings.
After the ceremony the bridal party led the way to the dining room where a five course dinner was served, after which the company was entertained with music rendered by Mr. Roscoe Reed, and the Misses Gladys Smith and Stella Slamp of Dakota, Ill.
The floral decorations of green and white were artistically arranged by the Misses Laura McElhose and Ruth Foster.
The out-of-town guests were Mr. Alfred Foster of Elizabeth, Ill., and Mr. Ulric Foster of Delaware, Ohio, brothers of the bride; Miss Henrietta McElhose, sister of the groom and cousin, Miss Elfrieda Weinrich of Arlington Heights; Misses Leone Reed and Naomi Virtue of Elizabeth, Ill., and Mrs. Dr. D.G.
