Del passed away Tuesday morning, March 26, 2013 at Tender Care of Kalamazoo. He was born May 23, 1927 in Mauston, WI the son of the Late Rev. Oscar C. and Elizabeth (Krohn) Thusius. Del received his Bachelor of Education Degree from Valparaiso University, his Masters of Education at Western Michigan University and Masters of Music from the University of Wisconsin. He taught music at Portage Central High School and a professor in the teachers college at Kalamazoo College. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where he sung in the choir. He enjoyed the Annual Bach Festival in Kalamazoo and horse-back riding and had a stable on Stadium Driver. Del is survived by his life time friend, David Reichard and friend and care taker, Mike Strong, both of Plainwell, and by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Oscar Thusius and Norman Eugene Thusius. Family will receive friends, Monday, (4/1) 5 to 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Eric Gledhill officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA or Concordia Theological Seminary, C/O Good Shepard Institute, 6600 North Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825
