Lorinda Wells Obituary

Lorinda Amanda Shafer was born March 10, 1944 in Mercer county, Penn. She died March 21, 1913, at the home of her son five miles northeast of Rozet, aged 69 years and 11 days. She was married to Erastus Wells, on Oct. 8, 1864, who is living to mourn his loss. To this union six children were born – five girls and one son, all of whom are living. They are: Mrs. John Fischer, Mrs. Gertrude Woolsey, and Chas. Wells of Rozet, Wyo., Mrs. Viola Ashpole of Clarion, Ia., and Mrs. Addie Hayden of Wall Lake, Iowa. She was a faithful wife and a kind and loving mother. While she never united with any church she has always been a faithful believer in Jesus, always kind and thoughtful of others and ever ready to help in the good cause whenever she could.

The funeral services were held at the home Easter morning at 9 a.m., conducted by Rev C.T. McCampbell. On account of the storm the body was brought to Moorcroft cemetery Monday morning and buried by the hands of kind neighbors and friends.
