Erastus Wells Obituary
Erastes Wells was born Feb. 27, 1935 [sic] in Merrimac Co., New Hampshire where he resided until 1856 when he moved to Iowa. He was married to Elizabeth Sorber in 1859. To this marriage 2 children where [sic] born, George of Rozet, Wyo. and one died in infancy. This wife died in 1862. In 1863 he wss [sic] united in marriage to Lorinda Shafer who passed into the great beyond in 1913. To this union six children were born, Mrs. Hayden of Wall Lake Iowa, Mrs. Ashpole of Clarion, Iowa, Mrs. D.D. Woolsey of Billings, Montana, Mrs. Fischer, Carrie and Charles of Rezet [sic] Wyo. He died at the home of his son Charles Nov. 8, 1918 at the age of 83 years 9 months and 11 days. Rev. H.A. Toland conducted funeral services at the home and interment was made in the Moorcroft cemetery.
