Obituary notes for George L. BOYER
Mahoning Dispatch, Fri, 5 May 1905
George L. Boyer, a well known and highly respected farmer of this township, was found dead in his cellar Tuesday evening. He had gone to the cellar to sort potatoes and remaining longer than seemed necessary to do the work, his daughter went to investigate and to her horror found that he had passed away. Dr. L. D. Coy was summoned but of course could do nothing. A post-mortem examination showed that death was dues to paralysis of the heart. The deceased had suffered from neuralgia, but aside from that was as well as usual, and on Monday was in Youngstown on business. Mr. Boyer was a great reader and possessed a fund of information far above the average. In politics he was a democrat. The deceased was born Sept. 27, 1840, and in consequence was in the 65th year of his age. He is survived by his wife and two children, Mabel and Shirley, both at home, a sister and a brother. Funeral services will be held from the family residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Canfield cemetery."
