Mrs. Catherine Kaercher Boyer, 82, who spent her entire life in this county, died at 1:30 last Saturday afternoon at her home 2 miles southeast of the village. She had been in failing health for some time. She was an excellent Christian woman, quiet and unassuming, who had many friends. She was a faithful member of the Canfield Methodist church. Her husband, George L. Boyer, long a prominent farmer, died 15 years ago. Her only son, Shirley Boyer, died three years ago in Virginia. She leaves one daughter, Miss Mabel Boyer, who gave her much comfort in life. She also leaves three grandchildren in Dartington Heights, Va., two brothers, N.A. and H.D. Kaercher, Youngstown, and a sister, Alice Whittenberger, Woodworth. Largely attended funeral services conducted by Rev. H. A. Cassidy were held from the Canfield M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in the village cemetery.
