Rocco Pasquale Maturo, 86, of the Masonic Home died Thursday at the Masonic Geriatric Health Care Center. He was the widower of Virginia DeSchepper Maturo. Mr. Maturo was born in Faicchio, Italy, Oct. 15, 1911, a son of the late Luigi and Maria DiSturco Maturo. He was a mixer at the former Federal Paper Board Manufacturing Co. in New Haven before retiring in 1965. He was a member of Adelphi-Momauguin Lodge 63, AF&AM, and the Connecticut State Guard during World War II. Mr. Maturo is survived by sons, Alfred N. Maturo of Guilford, Edward L. Maturo of Southington, Thomas S. Maturo of Hollywood, Fla., William D. Maturo of Cheshire, Robert J. Maturo of East Haven and Peter J. Maturo of Branford; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Charles and James Maturo; and a sister, Anna DellaRosa. Rocco Pasquale Maturo, 86, of Wallingford, father of William D. Maturo, of Cheshire, died Thursday, Sept. 3 1998 at the Masonic Geriatric Health Care Center.

He was the husband of the late Virginia DeSchepper Maturo.

Mr. Maturo was born in Faicchio, Italy, Oct. 15, 1911, son of the late Luigi and Maria DiSturco Maturo. He was a mixer at the former Federal Paper Board Manufacturing Co. in New Haven before retiring in 1965. He was a member of Adelphi-Momauguin Lodge 63, AF & AM, and the Connecticut State Guard during WWII. He was also a life member of Westgate Lodge No. 322, F&AM in Ft. Lauderdale, having held the office of tiler for six years, and served the Boy Scouts of America as scoutmaster of Troop #44 in Fair Haven for many years.

Besides his son of Cheshire, he is survived by sons Alfred N. Maturo, of Guilford, Edward L. Maturo, of Southington, Thomas S. Maturo, of Hollywood, Fla., Robert J. Maturo, of East Haven and Peter J. Maturo, of Branford; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Charles and James Maturo; and a sister, Anna DellaRosa.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 22 Masonic Avenue, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, 06492. The Beecher and Bennett [sic] Funeral Home of Hamden was in charge of the arrangements.
