Dies While Here Visiting Sick Mother
Mrs. Achsah Moffatt, forty-two years old, of Wilson died last night at the DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Moffatt was called to North Tonawanda Sunday on account of the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. Olive Johnson of Pendleton, at the home of the latter’s daughter, Mrs. William Hosmer on Main street. Mrs. Moffatt had been in poor health for over a year and, upon the advice of her physician, went to the hospital Tuesday to undergo treatment. She became rapidly worse after going to the hospital. On account of the critical illness of Mrs. Moffatt’s mother at the home of Mrs. Hosmer the body was removed to Hamp’s undertaking rooms on Young street where it will remain until Saturday, when it will be removed to the Universalist church at North Ridge where the funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock by Rev. Samuel Rogers of the Free Methodist church on Adam street. Burial will be at the North Ridge cemetery.
Mrs. Moffatt was born at Pendleton. Besides her mother and sister, Mrs. Hosmer, the deceased is survived by a five-year-old daughter, Ruth, and two brothers, Henry and Frank Johnson of Lockport.
