Lifelong Resident of Niagara Dies
Mrs. Olive Johnson, seventy-five years old, mother of Mrs. William Hosmer of North Tonawanda, Henry Johnson of Tonawanda and Frank Johnson of Pendleton, died yesterday afternoon at the home of the latter son. Mrs. Johnson was born in Wilson and had lived in Niagara county all her life. She was a sister of David Tower of New York and Frank Tower and Mrs. Elsie Morris of Wilson. She is urvived [sic] by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, the last two being LeGrand and Annabelle Kent, children of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kent of Lancaster, The funeral will be held Wednesday morning, at 10 o’clock at the late residence. Burial will be at Wilson.

North Tonawanda, July 6. – A number of Tonawandans and Buffaloians attended the golden wedding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Lockport at the home of their daughter, Mrs. James Moffat at Wilson Tuesday. Besides Mrs. Moffat, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are the parents of Mrs. William Hosmer of North Tonawanda and Henry and Frank Johnson of Lockport. Their only great grandchildren are LeGrand and Annabell Kent, children of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kent of Buffalo.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were married at Wilson. Mr. Johnson was 25 years old and Mrs. Johnson was nine years his junior at the time of the marriage. Mrs. Johnson was Miss Olive Tower, daughter of the late David Tower, who was the most extensive owner of farm lands in the vicinity of Wilson, Tuesday over 100 relatives and friends assembled to participate in the festivities attending the fold wedding of the highly esteemed couple, to earned felicitations for their 50 years of wedded happiness and to extend best wishes for their welfare.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were the recipients of several thousand dollars worth of presents, including $100 in gold and a gold dinner service set, the present of David A. Tower of New York, brother of Mrs. Johnson.
Dinner was served on the lawn and among those who sat dawn [sic] to the bountiful repast were at least a dozen people over 80 years old. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. William Hosmer and Mrs. Isaac Jones of North Tonawanda, Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Kent, Miss Helen Degnau, A.M. Wands and Daniel Conden of Buffalo, Mr. and Mrs. Witmer of Lockport, Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Tower of New York, Mrs. Lizzie Tower and Miss Minnie Tower of Boston, Mrs. Daniel Condit of Jersey City, Mr. and Mrs. William Warner of Merriton, Ont., and Mrs. John Heacock of Lockport.
