Carolyn Kincaid, 71, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness.
She was born July 2, 1944 in Uniontown, Ky., a daughter of the late Walter P. and Thelma Jean Rakestraw Shockley. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dwight Shockley.
Prior to retiring she worked at the West Virginia Education Association for 35 years. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her relaxing time reading and shopping with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James A. Kincaid; two sons, Bryan (Cheryl) and Kenneth Kincaid; five grandchildren, Abbie, Brittany, Morgan, Allyson and Braxton; one brother, Walter (Sharon) Shockley; and one sister, Kelly Freshour.
Per Carolyn's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
